Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A CoreThink account with an active API key
  • Cursor IDE installed (Download Cursor)

Step 1: Open Cursor Settings

Open Cursor Settings using the keyboard shortcut:

  • MacOS: CMD + SHIFT + J
  • Windows/Linux: CTRL + SHIFT + J

Navigate to the Models section in the settings panel.

Step 2: Add CoreThink API Endpoint

In the Custom Providers section, click Add Provider.

Override base url and paste the CoreThink endpoint URL:

https://api.corethink.ai/v1/code

Step 3: Enter Your API Key

  1. Copy your API key from the CoreThink Dashboard
  2. Paste it into the OpenAI API Key field in Cursor
  3. Enable the provider

Step 4: Add Custom Model

Add a custom model called “CoreThink” to use with the provider.

Step 5: Select CoreThink Model

From Cursor’s model dropdown in the chat panel, select your CoreThink model.

Step 6: Try It Out

Start a new chat and experience CoreThink’s advanced reasoning in action!

Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

  • Verify your API key is correct and active
  • Ensure you’re using the correct endpoint: https://api.corethink.ai/v1/code
  • Check your internet connection

Model Not Appearing

  • Make sure you’ve added and enabled the custom provider
  • Restart Cursor after making changes

API Key Errors

  • Generate a new API key from here
  • Ensure your organization has available credits
